Sally Hart

17_Sitting in the Shadow of a Tree Long Gone

Can we sit in the shadows of an uncut land and let life pass through here, as we talk of a lost past beneath the branches of trees? Planting a forest to replace it, can we sit wet and tired and talk till the sun turns cold, an evening on the water runs gold. The fear of trees sinking, the idea of trees disappearing, the thought of not doing anything, the feeling of letting life pass through here...

Sally Hart is a visual artist who lives and works in Boonah, Queensland. She regularly travels to lead community art workshops at festivals and events, favouring recycled and ephemeral materials.
